Summer is finally in the air, we’ve got a Bank Holiday looming and cocktails just taste so much better when the sunshine is beating down. It’s the perfect time for a hen party (let’s face it, when isn’t?) and we’ve got a whole host of summer hen party essentials that will really make it an event to remember.

Garden decorations

Whether you’re hosting a get-together at your bride’s house or you’ve rented out private accommodation for the weekend, a few decorations is a great way to transform the garden. You could even turn it into a mini festival with a BBQ going, colourful cushions and outdoor rugs and, of course, a hen party DJ! Failing that, candles, inflatables, lanterns and a garland is a sure-fire way to enhance your alfresco brunch or outdoor cocktails before the big night.

Hen party games

Remember, this is Britain – so you need a few fun games that can be enjoyed outside and inside if the weather’s not on your side. Don’t worry though as we’ve got a whole blog dedicated to hen party games. And there’s lots of activities that can easily be moved inside if the rain makes an appearance. Some of our favourites include cocktail making and cheese and wine tasting, which is a great idea for those foodie brides! Alternatively, a slumber party with snacks, films and a few cocktails will always go down a treat.

Delicious drinks

One of the best things about renting out a hen party house in the UK is that you can fill the fridge with all of your favourite tipples. And, there’s never a wrong time for a DIY cocktail party. As a rule of thumb, we say choose a few wines, two spirits and then add a few non-alcoholic drinks. You could even create your own cocktails or knock-up some of the bride’s best choices. Of course, don’t forget to set up the outside bar. Think plastic flutes, summer-themed straws, a shot wall and maybe even a punch bowl that’s ready to serve.

Tasty food

With all that drink, you need something to soak it all up. Summer is a great opportunity to get the BBQ going but if you don’t fancy yourself as a Nigella this weekend, don’t worry as we have plenty of other options. Sit back under the sun as a private chef does all of the hard work. You could even ask them to serve it outside or request a summer-themed menu. Alternatively, enjoy a pizza making or pasta crafting course and then enjoy the goods back at your house. And that’s before we’ve even mentioned our best-selling yoga and brunch hen party activity that combines an outdoor yoga session followed by a fizzy brunch of goods!

Have a splash

Come on, this is a hen party. And what’s a hen party without a hot tub?! Plenty of our hen party houses come with a private jacuzzi and, even if they don’t, we’ve teamed up with providers all over the UK so that the hot tub can come to you! All that’s left to do is choose your hottest bikini and get the fizz out of the fridge. Bubbles surrounded by bubbles, cheers!

Planning a hen party for this summer? We’re the team to turn to. Not only do we have perfect hen party accommodation all over the UK but we can arrange lots of fun hen do ideas like a spa day, afternoon tea experience, life drawing and even the likes of white water rafting. Just think of us like your hen night and hen weekend fairy godmother.
