Pub, bar and restaurant outdoor spaces officially opened this week, and even though we had some snow (!) on opening day, England really has made the most of it! Strolling through Bristol seeing people lapping up the Spring sunshine on terraces has got us even more excited about Spring and Summer hen dos, and we thought we’d give some of our favourite outdoor spots a shout out on our blog to get you all excited too.

We’ve picked a variety to suit every bride, and have plenty more up our sleeve if you have a different type of place in mind! Check out or list below, and get in touch about your plans.

The Botanist

The Botanist Bristol is a premium bar, and restaurant with its very own courtyard, centrally located in the heart of the city. A full all-day menu of brunches, lunch, dinner, and Sunday roasts is served, alongside a huge cocktail list covering all of your favourites as well as seasonal specials. We highly recommend an afternoon here to our hens!

The Lido

It’s a bit of a secret that there’s a lush swimming pool in the centre of the city! Offering a ‘mini spa break’ alongside a delicious meal, we think The Lido is a fabulous spot for hens!

Tobacco Factory

Does your bride-to-be want a low key, cool hen do? Then a few drinks in the space outside here might be just the ticket. Street food vans often pop up here, and there’s a market on Sundays. This is a great spot filled with Bristol spirit.

A fab venue from the Hyde & Co group (who we love), boasting really good food, great drinks, and a cracking view of Bristol to boot. This is laid back drinking and dining at its best.

The Olive Shed

Even as locals we can’t get enough of the harbourside views, and this place really offers some of the best. Serving fantastic tapas from day into night makes this a spot where you *almost* feel like you’re in the Mediterranean (legally too, as holidays are currently not allowed!). It was named the best for alfresco dining and tapas in the Bristol Good Food Awards, so it’s not just us!

Harbour House

Harbour House is an all day lounge, restaurant & terrace set in the iconic 19th century boathouse on Bristol’s beautiful floating harbour. With an extensive menu this is definitely somewhere which can cater for a mix of tastes, and the cocktails will definitely please everybody too!

Grain Barge

Moored in Bristol’s historic harbour, this is a great spot for those wanting some relaxed drinks in a unique Bristol location. Named one of Britain’s best pubs with a view, guests can enjoy drinks and food on the sunny deck from day into night.

Under The Stars

This floating Mediterranean tapas restaurant moored on Bristol’s historic harbour (can you tell we like the harbour?) serves incredible food and even more incredible cocktails. At night candlelight and the lights from the harbour light this space up magically.

The Spotted Cow

If your bride-to-be loves a good boozer, then you really can’t beat a pub garden for a good old knees up. Why not book in for a Sunday roast as well? The Spotted Cow has got to be one of our favourites for outdoor space and roasts.

The Gloucester Old Spot

A little out of the city, but really rather worth it. The Gloucester Old Spot offers a variety of outdoor seating options with a menu stuffed with locally-sourced produce. This is a proper community pub with a wonderful, friendly, and truly Bristolian vibe.
